30x30x30 2022 “Psyche” Series

The annual 30x30x30 Exhibition hosted by VAR Gallery invites 30 selected artists to create 30 small works in the first 30 days of January. In 2022 I was privileged to be included as an exhibiting artist. This series was an extension of a weekly art prompt I’d begun in Spring 2021 as a healing arts practice. The purpose of this series was to document my daily emotions through visual art journaling. Taking inspiration from the Surrealist’s practice of surrealist automatism (allowing the unconscious to sway the act of making) each mixed media piece is influenced by my deepest emotions and thoughts. Autonomy requires a level of vulnerability for genuine self-acceptance and expression.

Each work measures 6x6 inches and is mixed media on paper.
