30x30x30 2025 Talisman Dolls
Talismans are symbolic objects we hold close, with roots in diverse cultural and spiritual practices. Though influenced by individual perspectives, cultures, and beliefs, the desire for inner ease is universal. Healing talisman dolls have long been used as tools of protection, comfort, and empowerment across cultures. My work with cloth talisman dolls combines these cultural inspirations with therapeutic art, giving each piece personal and spiritual significance.
This series of 30 cloth talisman dolls reflects an intuitive, meditative process. Every stitch is an intentional act, facilitating gratitude, hope, and healing. May these small creations offer moments of comfort, however subtle.
Each doll is made of hand-dyed cloth, fabric pastels, beads, embroidery thread, polymer clay, and paint. Size is approximately 6×6 inches.
The annual 30x30x30 Exhibition hosted by VAR Gallery invites 30 selected artists to create 30 small works in the first 30 days of January.
